Notes from Lily: Aint' it the truth! Thinking "High." It's the secret to every imaginable joy.
This involves the practice of thinking about what you want rather than what you don't want. Focusing on solutions rather than problems. Directing your thoughts towards all that you have to be grateful for rather than those things that make you feel hopeless, worthless and overwhelmed.
So let me ask you. What percentage of your thoughts are positive? Take today to observe your thoughts in action. If you do this exercise, it will reveal to you on a deeper level how you think daily.
Take a piece of paper and put a line down the middle. On one side write "untamed mind" and on the write tamed mind. Any thoughts you have that judge others or yourself, that are resistant to what is today, that are worries about the future for yourself or others, that create anxiety in your body, or that focus on what happened in the past (regrets), put a mark on the side of the paper that says untamed mind.
If you think a grateful thought, a loving thought, a compassionate thought, an empowered thought or hold a vision for what you want, put a mark on the tamed mind side of the page.
Most people that do this exercise are shocked at how many of their thoughts come from the untamed mind. But knowing how dominant it is in your head is actually the first step to shutting it down.
This is an incredibly important exercise, so do it as soon as you read this. Otherwise the untamed mind will talk you out of it so that it can continue to dominate your life. You don't want that I know!
This is the training in "thinking" differently so you can "behave" differently. The more your thoughts are on the Tamed Mind side of the page, the easier it is to release excess weight ... So think high my friend!
